they are very nicely taken images - on a personal note I can't stand the website on the image - to me it ruins them

Thanks mike. I've tried to take a shot of the red flower several times before, the result was a let down. It's quite a tall tree. This time I manage to find one, small enough to make a close-up shot.

Now that you've asked Shirley, I went and have a google for the flower. It's called Pohutukawa. I think it's in the native new zealand language.
