Just returned from a vacation in Nags Head on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The weather was lousy, 2 pretty days out of 7. I never tire of seeing the ocean and it always leaves me speechless, so I thought I'd share a few words....


Fleeting





The steps of man
imprinted in the sand
are but for a moment
then the waves remand

He counts his decades
seven, maybe eight
he leaves his mark
then meets his fate

Time continues its forever march
he strives to make his presence known
fame and fortune are but fleeting things
he'll be remembered by the seeds he's sown

I think the poor weather adds to this shot - very gentle and bleak. Thanks for putting it up Mike!

Mike, I love that there is no clear horizon line, just a vast expanse in to an unknown. The footfalls lead you forward in perfect step with your poem and I can't think of a better title to match this shot. You've planted seeds of encouragement and support here. May you enjoy a rich harvest.

Excellent work Mike.
An abandoned beach rolling down to the sea. Footsteps leading to towards the incoming tide.
Waves rolling in with the mist and a lone photographer with his companaion Nikki Sue find inspiration easy and Fleeting was conceived.

looks you had the beach all to yourself and it gave you some time to create a shot.....the cloudiness gives the sand more texture than if it had been bright and sunny.....Good weather or not I wish I had been there too
