Default Old Power House on the NY Shore of the Hudson

I was out taking pictures from th NJ Palisades yesterday, mostly of the George Washington Bridge. But on the drive North of the bridge I spotted this old power house on the NY side of the Hudson River:

Default Reminds me of Home.

Great shot,

I'm grew up on the Mohawk. Nice to see pictures from near home.

At first I thougt I liked the shot framed through the logs better, but now I think I prefer the full-on power house. Very nice - both of them!

I enjoyed your pictures from yesterday, and you've continued with an excellent pair today.
The first is my favourite, with the Hudson River and disused jetty. It looks like a great location for further pictures, and you said old power house if that means abandoned there may be scope for close up pictures inside its grounds. Anyay, great post, I enjoyed this one

NB It looks a little like, and certainly reminds me of, Battersea Power Station in London, an iconic landmark

Thanks Beachcomber. I think I have seen that power station taking the train from London to Tollworth.

That looks like an interesting building to shoot. Any chance you could get closer, and get some detailed shots of the brickwork?

It looks familiar...have I seen this before, let's say, with a giant inflatable pig flying above it?...

I agree...it has that old 'Industrial Age' look to it.
