Default Bumblebee - first successful macro!

I've seen lots of wonderful macro shots, she's particularly good. Anyways I was mucking about in a flower garden near the Montreal Olympic Stadium, and came upon a bumblebee feeding on some nectar.

The thing just sat there and ignored my conspicuously close lens. It was quite wonderful seeing its tongue flapping in and out. I took loads of shots over half an hour. This was the best, as it turned out very sharp. I wish the backdrop was prettier, and that I had a clearer shot without a blurry foreground ... but such is life ...

Default Wonderful Macro.

Great macro. DOF is hard with macro. Lots of fun to see what they look like up close and personal.
