That is one of the most unusual birds I have ever seen. He's so plump! The sharpness of his beak makes me think he is a flycatcher but with his size, it seems bugs could fly faster. Very interesting post.

The first shot appeals to me the most because the green background allows the bulbul to pop. In the second one, the washed out background distracts. Both shots, though, are tack sharp on the bird. Well done.

thank you all for the nice words.the first shot taken from car in a sitting position ,aperture priority mode 5.6. the 2nd one taken in a stading position ap 7.1.
scientific name is Pycnonotus jocosus.distribution: india,myanmar,bangladesh,nicobarhabits refers the better-wooded localities than the red vented species& commonly found in hills up to 25oomm,enters gardens,usally tame &confiding.its joyous querulous notes are more similar to the red vented one, but more musical.nesting: feb to august eggs: 2-4,both sexes share parental duties.from my home to clinic way, these birds are in plenty
