While in Washington visiting my daughter and the grand kids, we went to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. What a wonderful place to visit.

I find it very hard to shoot a decent picture in these conditions including the crush of people. Yours are terrific. I love snakes--when they are behind bars!

Been there a few times from when I used to live in Seattle......awesomely beautiful place but hated the perpetual rainly gloomy skies.....glad you enjoyed your time there...I very much desire a return visit with my camera....so much to shoot!

Fascinating creatures although its a shame that any animal is held in captivity, but important they are to ensure their survival and so we may all enjoy them close and personal like these wonderful pictures, nicely done Fred

All of them are excellent Fred but my favourite here is the first one. You got him looking straight down the lens. Great work Fred, looks like you had a good time at the zoo.

Dave.

It is a beautiful place. I can understand why you desire to return. It rained on us while we were there. Boy was I was glad I had a rain coat along, it kept the camera pretty dry. Rain has been such a unique experience of late, i rather enjoyed it. Stay tuned, I'll be sharing more from Woodland Park.

Yes, I'd much rather see animals in the wild. One thing I like about zoos, it brings creatures I would never be able to see in my lifetime to where I can see them for real. Kind of selfish I guess but, I do like them. Thanks for leaving the nice comment buddy.

Good shots. I have always had trouble getting any good pictures at a zoo. I like the first one of the snake the best.

That first shot of the snake staring straight at the camera is almost frightening, glad there was glass between you.
