Default Space Station passing in front of the Big Dipper

I took this shot this evening, as the ISS was passing in front of the Big Dipper.

30 second exposure @ f3.5
ISO 800

Now there's a photo you don't see every day. That's well done and pretty darn cool.

Just curious: how did you know just where to point your camera?

Thanks for sharing.

Hey. Great capture. I watched that. It is the coolest thing. I think that this past Monday you could see the ISS and the shuttle.

NASA has put together a few tools to help you know when the shuttle and ISS will be passing over you.

Their basic tool is at:
Human Space Flight (HSF) - Orbital Tracking

And a more advanced one that lets you search for other satellites as well is at:
Human Space Flight (HSF) - Realtime Data

Nice shot and unusual. I'm going to see if I can see it - but not tonight as it's cloudy!

Suhweeet! Seems like there's too much light pollution here for me to try this. Nice job!
