Default Did I say "Hot dog," or "Hot Rod?"

I went to the Langley Cruise-in meet today to check out the automobiles. Well, I had a feeling from the Cruise-in website that previous years were crazy, and that the meet was growing each year, but the show exceeded my expectations. I only wish I had more time to stay (even though I was there for 4 hours). Here are a few pics. I think you have to check out the larger versions to appreciate these classics! I hope you enjoy them.

I love these rolling works of art. I notice my personal favorite, the '56 Corvette, remains the original Candy Apple Red. Sometimes it's best to just leave it like it is! The other cars just seem to glow. I'll bet these photos were fun to take, upload and process. Nicely done!

Awesome shots! My kids are drooling all over my computer! We drove by the corvette museum last weekend in Bowling Green, KY and they were having a 15yr anniversary party and corvette drive in...I think they said 3,000-4,000 corvettes driving in. There was a mess of them (all sizes/ages) and hubby wouldn't take the exit to check them out. (He's not a crowd person and I'm sure we'd have had to park a ways and walk), but man, what a sight!

Thanks JP. I could not pick a favorite, but there was a 68 camaro whose paint was so nice. The owner said he wet sanded it out about 12 times using up to 1600 grit on the sides, and 2000 grit on the roof, truck lid, and hood. Amazing! I did not include a shot as there was too much stuff interfering with the composition. Too bad for me.

I did have a great time playing in Lightroom with these images. I found that I used the tone curves and other controls very differently than I would have, say, for a landscape etc. I tried to make the cars stand out, and I think I did an okay job, without going overboard in post.

Thanks mymaison97. Too bad for you that your hubby did not want to check it out. My wife is sort of like your hubby, and does not like large crowds. That is why I went by myself. Cheers!
