Default Red Passion

I thnk Passion vine/flowers are one of the most interesting flower. These reds are very hardy in our area, and come back year after year. I need to find a hardy purple one, as I think they would photgraph really well.

The ants are pretty passionate about them as well ;-)

And this guy, he's more into my lime tree. They chew on the leaves and do quite a bit of damage, and I was almost tempted to toss him to Ms. Spider, for an afternoon snack ;-) but I'm too much of a softy, plus he was kind enough to pose for me....

A beautiful bloom indeed, but I think the photo of the grasshopper is the best I have seen of this insect. Very sharp and detailed. Nice job.

Cracking images and I love the colors and lighting in each of them. You have captured the flowers and those that use them beautifully.
Thanks for sharing.
David.

So toss him to the spider after the portrait. I'm a softy, too, but not for critters eating my plants. I have no trouble encouraging certain parts of the cycle of life…

Your photo of the grasshopper is really amazing... We can see all the details! But, before toss him to the spider, you can try to cook it. It taste good, I tried once...

Thanks all ! I really do like to shoot grasshoppers, and we have a pretty big variety of them around here, but they do do a lot of damage to crops. They're not as bad this year as they have been in the past though...those big Orb spiders sure do like them ;-) I think I'll pass on eating them myself LOL blech ;-)
