I really like your interesting and different take on sunflowers! (Maybe that's not so different around here - I'm new and haven't seen many sunflower shots yet - but it's different from what I've seen!)

Hi Net g thanks for your comments. Most are in yellow with a black bit in the middle. But that middle is the most interesting as theres so much going on texture wise so b/w brings this out so much more,
thanks for you comments

A superb pair of pictures, whether captured directly in black and white, or subsequently converted and edited, it matters not, the results are outstanding.
Pin sharp detail, wonderful light, shade, shadow and tones and perfect focus and DoF, they are a joy to look at.
Like a pair matching flintlocks they should be mounted, framed and displayed prominently on a wall. Well done Mike.

Thanks Steve
Great comments as alway and well appreciated from you.I now always shoot in colour then convert in cs3 to greyscale as i can push and push to get the desired results and there seems to be so much more play and its fun.In colour i couldnt get what i wanted when bringing out the centre textures as there is so much going on. I love your liking to a pair of flintlocks being an ex gun man-ill rephrase that -gun enthusiast!! I love the textures and knurling in those old weapons. Spot on steve and thanks. I need to check out your seagull photo again .
Cheers Mike

Diz these are GREAT I like them a lot. I could see these going on my wall somewhere if I had some space!

I'm running out of space for my own photos!

I'm so accustomed to bright color shots of sunflowers, it would never have occurred to me to adjust to BW. What a great choice! You can see detail that I think you miss in color. Just great!
