Default Self Portrait with a Strobe

So, I picked up a cheap strobe from ebay, set it up at an angle in my basement, shut off all the lights, wired up the shudder release on the camera and took the shot...

I need more practice, but I dig this so far!

great shot. love the lighting effect from the strobe. I dont know why this went by without more replies. sometimes people are more interested in pics of sticks then a really quality shot like yours

That's a really good shot. Love the dramatic effect.

Not bad for a first go at it. Well done my man, well done. I like your signature too. Frank Zappa fan, huh? A true musical genius.

Nice self-portrait. The B&W really works here. I don't know what the color version looked like, but maybe I don't need to. This is a great first effort. I haven't been bold enough to try a self-portrait yet. Don't think I'm such a great subject.

Thanks for the inspiration. I've got a complete strobe setup, too. But haven't taken it out of the box yet! What a travesty! I'll have to get something going this weekend.
Thanks for sharing!
