Default Oh, Give Me A Home...

Black & white antelope

This is my first time using Photoshop Elements 7, so I will admit that I don't really know what I'm doing yet. For this picture, I turned a colour shot to b & w, then clicked on one of the options to make it look old fashioned. I really don't know if it worked or what, because, like I said, I'm new to all of this editing.

I know the shot would look better if it included all (or more) of the horns, but I was on a tour bus going through the Werribee Free Range Zoo in Werribee, Australia last month. If I had gotten more of the horns, the shot would have included other people in the bus and/or parts of the bus.

Anyway, just wanted to share.

I was expecting a buffalo! Very nice work. Did you do any tinkering with contrast?

I like it. It is a great B&W but it doesn't look old fashioned to me. I have a lot of trouble converting my pics to B&W. This was a nice conversion and a nice capture to begin with.

Thanks everyone!

I think what I did was this: I changed it into a b & w photo, then under guided editing I clicked on "old fashioned" (this is where the old fashioned 'label' came into play), then either on "vivid landscapes" or "urban/snapshots"....I believe it was the vivid landscapes though. I really don't remember if I had adjusted contrast or anything like that. I had played around with it some, but I think I might have just reset it. I'll have to write these things down for future use I think...so I will know what I did and how I did it...

A really nice shot. Very effective use of b/w.

I think it looks great and I like the B/W but do not notice the old fashion effect. Thanks for sharing.

Ok...I've figured out why it doesn't have the 'old fashioned' look...I didn't click on any of the selections that would do that. It's just the b & w I guess, lol.
