Red face 1st Crown Splash

Hey all, I just tried my first water drop picture. I was able to get two "almost perfect" crowns out of 230 shutter clicks :]. Criticism is welcome, and highly appreciated!
Enjoy:

Welcome to DPS Nathan, you've been busy. 230 clicks, 2 outstanding crowns and your first post. Well done, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work

Very nice, I had a go too but I think my iso was a little low. These are very nice. How did you time the shots ? I found I had 30 or more photos and only 1 captured a crown.

Thanks guys!
I have posted more on flickr, but most of my -good- shots are still in folders on my computer. I will work on being more active here on DPS.

David: I set my camera to continuous and held the shutter down for about 10 exposure lengths. I'd check to see what I had captured and adjusted my timing from there. For these shots I placed two LED pen lights above the plate and the built-in flash on the camera.

Welcome to DPS Nathan!!
Well what I want to know is why are there only 11 points to the crown in your 1st capture and 12 points in the second? How did you manage to lose one point in that 1st crown. L.o.l
Great Shots, well captured and focused.
Thanks for sharing these and I look forward to seeing more.
Michael.

I was wondering the same thing. Honestly I have no idea why. I know it has something to do with the way the drop hit the plate, but that is about it. haha
