Default Casey 08/30/97-09/07/09

Some of my DPS family know that I lost my collie, Bella, Sat. Sept. 5th. On Monday, Sept. 7th I also lost my darling Casey. I am beyond heartbroken and it is hard to type this because the tears have not let up. Casey was my recycled Sheltie. I called him that because he had lived with two families before I got him. He had so much energy and was so untrained (for lack of a better word) that they couldn't or wouldn't handle him. He came to live with me and I gave him a job, dog agility, and for the ten years he lived with me was a nearly perfect Sheltie. Oh, he had his quirks and his shortcomings, but he also had one of the biggest hearts you ever saw. Unfortunately. that heart had to battle congestive heart failure for the last year and a half. He lost that battle Monday night when he took his last breath in my arms. He had just turned 12 years old the week before. Thank you all for letting me unload my grief on you, again, and forgive me for not commenting on anyone's photography. Hug your furkids because you never know how long you'll have them with you.

oh no....again? so soon? I am terribly sorry once again. You have once again pushde through your pain to create a wonderful collage to memorialize Casey by. I presume that you have other shelties to help comfort you in this time

I'm so sorry Shirley, this is just so hard, sending hugs your way. Your collages are such a beautiful tribute to such a beautiful and special dog. My thoughts are with you.

It is always a sad time when a pet dies, but at least you have some photographs to remember them by.

Nothing can replace a loved one, but a double tragedy is impossible for most to even begin understand how great the loss you must feel.
Bella is gone, but she is joined by Casey, and thats how I would remember them, running together side by side again in their favourite fields. Take care Shirley.

It's never easy losing a loved one, much less a furry one. But knowing you gave them years of love can be a comfort. What a beautiful tribute.

Oh I am so very sorry for your loss, and I didn't know you'd just lost one earlier as well ;-( I can't even imagine, that is so very hard. Just know that you gave Casey a wonderful life and a second chance that a lot of dogs don't get. I'm sure he was one happy lucky dude ;-) I know Casey and Bella are up there hangin' with our old Shelties, Maggie and Nick, and I bet my Border Collie Bob will be there to meet them at the bridge as well. Hugs to you and healing thoughts coming your way. RIP little angels.

Default And then there were three :-(

I just wanted to thank all of you that have responded to my losses. You have no idea how hard this has been and how much your words have meant to me. My other guys are keeping me busy which is a good thing and I'm spending all my time with them. I haven't picked up my camera yet cause I want to be able to give them my full attention. I have looked at a lot of your photos and as usual they are all awesome, but I just don't seem to have the energy to respond to them individually. I've made a collage of the other three with the best smiling faces I could find of them. That is to cheer me up and to thank all of you. Having friends like all of you, even though we may never meet, means a lot to me.
