Well I have been waiting days for this shot, I know it sounds silly, but it was actually kind of exciting to watch this monster machine coming through the corn fields straight at me, here is what I got..

Fantastic captures Mom! I love them both also but #1 really grabs my attention a bit more. I think it is that last row of corn about to get hacked that adds to its interest. I know we have both been looking for these shots since we are in the heart of Ag land. You really did a fabulous job here. I love the dust cloud behind them. It really does look like a menacing beast!

Great Captures; I've never seen corn being harvested, but I've watched rice being harvested in Thailand on our plantation and it's really something to see. Perhaps I'll get some pictures this harvest season and post them.
Thanks for sharing these Michael.

Wow! great shots.
The second composition shows the strength and the dangerous side of that machine (harvester?). The larger size in Flickr shows how impressive this "cornsucker" is. You better not stand on its way. LOL!!! Thanks for sharing.

Deb, these are great. A song by Ry Cooder comes to mind immediately...a remake of a Woodie Gutherie tune "The Taxes on the Farmer Feeds Us All":
It would put them to the test if the farmer took a rest And they'd know that it's the farmer that feeds them all The two elements I really like about these photos, especially the first, is the emotional response as seen in your feedback. I especially love the beautiful repeating pattern of blade/stalks/blade/stalks. High five for finally getting your shot and doing it so well!
