Default Some shots from my new camera

The first two are some more shots I took at Tirau, NZ. It is a small town that I and many others travel through as it is on the main route to some of the biggest tourist spots.

This is a large corrugated dog found on the main street of Tirau, it is an information centre plus it has the nicest smelling and cleanest public toilets I have been to in NZ.

The town is well known for its corrugated signs advertising buisnesses.

I have been practising with DOF this is one of a 'Lipstick Boroina'

Unfortunately my new 18-105mm VR lens isn't a macro lens and only allows me to get so close to subjects, but in this case I don't really mind. Cockroaches are creepy.

Hi Angela, what interesting signs, I see the new camera will be getting a real workout, when I got my DSLR I too had problems with macro shots, but with practice you'll get them the way you want. Happy to see your wonderful posts again.

Some shots from my new camera

Lets see, it captures buildings that look dogs, giant green bugs, nice pink flowers and small brown bugs.
All excellent - yeah, looks like the cameras working just fine, good job Angelb

Thanks Michael, I think I need a dedicated macro lens to get up close and personal, it's on my wish list.

Thanks Lorraine, cockroaches are definitely creepy especially when they are on your kitchen bench like this one. My son wanted me to get rid of it fast but I had to take a photo of it first.

Hi Jared, I love driving through Tirau it is such a lovely place to stop for a bite to eat or just to admire the quaint shops.

Great set of shots Angela. Let me guess, if your taking pictures of cockroaches that camera hasn't left your side and anything that gets in the way is a good target.
