I am very very amateur here but I have a couple of shots of my son that are my favorites taken this past weekend. If you have any constructive input, please feel free to post it. I still have no clue what I am doing but trying very much to improve every time I take a photo
Flickr has some more besides these: Labor Day 09 - a set on Flickr ![]() ![]() This photo did not turn out the way I expected. The kid is blurry and I do not know why. Should I have been using manual focus or is it the shutter speed? ![]() Not sure what to do with this one. Was trying to get the feeling of what life looks like from my son's perspective. Should I crop out the people on the left and right in the shot? Is it too boring since there is really nothing interesting he is looking at?

Well you have done very well here.
I like the way you have composed the first one with focus on the baby, who is a real cutie by the way, and DOF showing and not excluding others. This is a gem. The 2nd shot is also well composed and sharp. Cheers, Bernz

Nice shots and great work with the rule of thirds.
