Default Field Hockey

The lighting was awful, midday sun, no cloud cover. First time shooting field hockey, and they equipment people haven't gotten their act together, so nothing exotic.

Great action shots. You can feel the impact of muscle on muscle, bat on ball. Such energy. Nicely done and certainly not hampered by your lighting conditions in my estimation.

Part of my frustration with the lighting was that I could only shoot from the east sideline, which meant I was shooting into really hard shadows. They also water the turf with these hardcore, industrial, fire hose sprinklers, so everything was damp, and hitting the ball got nice big splashes (as you can see).

Wow, great action shots. I really like the concentration on their faces.
