Default Street Scenes in Gastown

A couple of friends and I went to Gastown in Vancouver the other day. There just happened to be a show and shine put on by the North Shore auto club. Many very nice vehicles were there, and I took a lot of photos of the vehicles, but i wanted to take some people shots as well. I converted some of my people shots in to B&W, and will most likely post some more as time goes on (as well as some car shots). How else will I get better. Also, you should check these out in a larger format on my Flickr as some of the people's expressions are hard to see at medium size, especially the people in the background. I hope you enjoy these, and feel free to comment about composition etc if you want.

cool set plangereis, like the urban style , really cool cars and I like how you wanted to get some people in the shots and you did .. the guy in mid step in the third is great .

I like how these are done.. they are a little darker, deeper contrast, has a good feel to go with the cars... well done

Nice shots! I can see how the b&w did it's thing, it wouldn't be the same in colour. I also like the perspective, I have a feeling like they were taken from a higher view point.

Thanks enrique. For me B&W seems to provide the feeling of eternity in a moment.

Well Steve, I guess this is a bit of a change from what I normally shoot, but this is related to an assignment for the photography club I am joining in the fall (next week). I llike taking photos with people, and this venue allowed candid photos with people not realizing I was taking them. They were too busy checking out the great cars etc., although if you look closely at some of these certain people were definitely aware of me taking photos. This is what I like about street photography. Cheers mate!

Thanks milosh. The higher perspective in a few of these shots was a result of being on a slight incline on the high side. I also took some shots (that I have not posted yet) from areas in fron of restaurants that had awnings because of the rain.
