Smile First experience of potraits

Hi,
I am a first time DSLR user. Own a Canon EOS 450D (Rebel Xsi) with 18-55mm kit lense. I took some experimental portraits of my daughter. I am quite excited about the camera and the results. Please share your views about the pics.

I haven't learnt photo editing yet. These photos are not edited except some cropping.

Good to see that you have thought about focusing on the eyes very tricky when dealing with young children but overall great set and a lovely child

Hi all,
I am overwhelmed by the response i have received so far.
I have learnt a lot about the photo techniques from this site. I must say that I was motivated to buy a DSLR camera just because of this site. I am trying to polish photography techniques and my skills

Regards
