Default First Maternity Shoot! Sorry I haven't been here...

Hello all! How odd to see the good, familiar DPS colors on my monitor tonight, I haven't had the privelege of being here in so long. We've had some major family stuff happening (some good, some bad) and I've been unable to get my DPS fix for ages, LOL!

I had my very first maternity shoot today. I can honestly say I'm not 100% happy with these - I struggled with light and most seem quite blown out to me....but, the mom and dad to be are happy and I did this shoot pro-bono, so there's no love lost over that.

Anyway, for what they're worth, I thought I'd share a few with my friends past, present, and future. As always, thank you all so much for looking and commenting!

Mama Mariah

(This one irks me, the original edit has much better contrast and isn't so dark, the upload came out too dark)
Mama Mariah

(Blown out but somehow I still like it!)

Hi Susan! I'm new here, but thought I'd reply anyway. I really like the last one (B&W). They're all good, but the B&W is my favorite. Thanks for sharing!

These are Wonderful. I really like the first one. Something about the angle. You did a beautiful job of capturing the pregnancy without detracting from the mother. It is also nice to see some uniqueness in a maturnity shoot. These were not what I was expecting when I clicked the link. You should be proud!

Welcome back Susan ! I haven't been here for too terribly long, but I do remember you and your wonderful photos. These are nice, I do really like the third image, I agree with you, there is something about it, blown out or not, it works well. The first one is unique and taken at a different angle, which again makes it work so well. Thanks for sharing these, looking forward to seeing more.

As a member in standing in the Life Happens Club, I would like to welcome you back. (I've been gone some, too). I think it has to be okay to just ebb and flow here. Always glad to see your name and especially see you return with such fabulous photos. Your photographic instincts are so good, Susan, that even when the conditions aren't what you want--perfection, ya know--you are able to extract the best the situation has to offer and get great shots. Nicely done.

You did such a fantastic job on these and they are going to cherish these photos forever. I also am loving the last one. I want to practice some high key stuff myself sometime soon. I also really love the second one. I can just imagine the not so dark version and I love the black shear fabric with her creamy white skin. Both of these are just gorgeous to me. Great work!!!

Love the angle on the first shot, but I love the dreamy effect on the third pic even more.
