Default The hydrant that I missed and other shots

All right Nathan and Dave, here is the "beautiful" hydrant that you both pointed out was not taken in my last post.....hope this one is better

DSC_1255

Here is a shot along a long straight country road.....just flat out stopped the car in the middle of the road and shot this out of my window......yes, I was watching for a car to appear over the hill a long way back

DSC_1036

Here is a shot about 5 miles from work......walked down a guy's driveway to this area

DSC_1047

This shot might need an explanation.....It has obviously been pp'd but minimally. The shot was taken in broad daylight but was a dark pond in the background which did not add anything to the original shot. I slightly overexposed the brightly lit thistle heads and then when I got home, I slid the darkness control slider most of the way to the left which gave this unique appearance...I liked this better.

two thistles

Score! That hydrant is just great! You composition is perfect and the colors, well, the wearing colors give it a nice quality. I really like your wooden post. I always take photos of them because I find the combination wonderful but I rarely share them 'cause it seems like there's only an audience of one--me. Maybe I'm wrong about that. Great reflection and the thistles, with your PP is a good call. I say it again: Score!

Lindy, what do you mean by audience of one? just shots that have setimental value but don't really "measure up" to a worldwide audience? I know alot of family candids would fall into that category

do you find beauty or does it find you?

I like the yellow flowers and fence post, definately one I'd have gone for.
The water picture is another winner, and you've captured it beautifully Patrick, with the glorious trees and refelctions.
The final picture is clever. It reminds me of dark green velvet cushion with embroidered floral design in gold and purple threads my nan had years ago,

Wow Patrick, do you every make it to work? These places you find on your way are just beautiful, I would get lost in what I was doing and never make it.

LOL Patrick .. I'm forever with the nose off the car in the ditch .. people just slow down and stare, somehow mystified but when they see the camera they go on .. I doubt they have the addiction but somehow understand .. Great set, but I'm in a toss up between the post and the thistle ..

Haha well, maybe close up it's not that beautiful but it would have been a shame no to get a picure of it. Thank you for taking the time to go back, it was worth it just to see what we missed. the others in this post are right up to the usual standard Patrick. Nice yellow flower and a lovely reflection. Worth the walk down that guys driveway and I love what you did with the last one. Great work Patrick and thank you for the hydrant pic.

Dave.
