Default Student Portraits

My students like to pose whenever I bring my camera to the university. But I like taking random/candid shots better. I simply told them I was learning how to take better portraits and I was just doing this for a creative hobby. I like taking shots of people and plan to master portrait photography.

They all inspire me. I hope I also inspire them as their teacher.

A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.

Our children should inspire us all.

Excellent set of pictures Rick, nicely done mate

Looks like you are well on your way to being a portraitist. Nice work.

Nice shots, all of them, but especially the second two.

This set of portraits is looking very good!

I think it is very important that you share this activity with your students (dentistry? what a coincidence, my mom used to be a dentist). I'm sure they understand that a creative hobby like this induces creativity in all other aspects of your life, including your work. That is a great example for them!

I like them too. At least I had no difficulty keeping them relaxed while I was shooting.

Thank you very much. Yes some of them are studying dentistry; others, pharmacy and nursing. And they are always pressing me to show my shots on facebook. I manage to get only 1 to be a member of this forum.

Your comments inspire me, Flavio. I really appreciate them.

Rick

Nice Portraits Rick. I am also a teacher, but at the elementary level. I have thought of posting some portraits of my students as well, but worry about getting into trouble from parents etc. Did you ask for the okay from your students, or get a permission slip from parents? Just curious. I really like the first and second one in this set. Keep going.

It is not a big deal here in the Philippines. Instead they want to see their pics on the internet especially on Facebook. I guess they all regard teachers here as second parents, so no permission slips needed. But I ask them just the same after taking the shots.

Thanks and happy teaching.
