Talking Castle Ruins

These are some shots of the Nakagusuku Castle Ruins in Okinawa, Japan. We visited it for what will probably be our last time (only have 8 months left on island) about a week ago. My camera will miss this island dearly. Enjoy!

These are gorgeous shots. Love the detail and the vivid colors. Very well done. I can see why you will miss it.

Interesting shapes...any history as to whether it was ever finished? If so, what was the top constructed of and might it have looked like? how old is this structure?

Thank all of you for your kind comments!!

Nakagusuku was started in 1441 and took 10 years to build. On Okinawa, a castle was high land and instead of a moat, the sea was the barrier. The stonework however is said to be similar in construction to that of French castles. They are, as you can see, amazing to photograph!

Again, thank you!!
