Twin turbine engines and capable of speeds of 200mph+, this is the Miss Gieco Off Shore Power Boat.
![]() Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/640) Aperture: f/14.0 Focal Length: 400 mm ISO Speed: 400 Exposure Bias: 0 EV To put things in perspective .. riding 40mph in a boat is very fast, 60mph is thrilling and dangerous.. over 80mph is deadly ... from 100- 170mph is so dangerous, that each year professional drivers in the very latest boats with high tech safety gear, helecopters with divers flying above and a whole set of speed guildlines for water conditions still manage to get themselves killed... 200mph is just sick ! and even at about a mile away and 400m it was still a chore to keep it in frame.. I had a few seconds to shoot, cause you heard it.. saw a speck of yellow .. there it is ... and it was gone .. !, it was so much faster, that for this racing event it was only there in exitibition because all the other boats could only do 160mph and it wouldn't have been fair in the bay where this race was held ..( only 160 ) ! hope you liked it ! and NO a little lizard with the cockney accent wasn't driving ! Vin

Great catch! I was at Indy once in the '80s watching qualifying/practice sessions. I can appreciate how difficult it is to get something at 200mph. To get this kind of speed, action, and clarity takes a lot of skill. Well done, my friend!

It's really amazing how you have captured this image traveling at 200 mph. Extremely well done!
