Default Weird Stance

Back from a one week break that turned into two weeks. Still going through all the photos, but thought I would share this strange Blue Heron. I've never seen one stand this way, maybe one of you guys have seen this before and can explain to me what he is doing.

What an amazing shot Fred, and so clear. I would say he was sunny his belly trying to dry of his feathers, anyway what ever he is doing you captured him doing it very well.

Hey Vin, good to be home, after living here the cool nights and mornings back there was too much for me. Glad you liked the BH, he looked strange to say the least.

Thanks Allyson, I took several shots of this guy and was walking away when one of my sons looked back and saw him standing this way. We started shooting all over again, once we stopped laughing.

Thanks Ella, yep the first thought from me was we have a flasher.

Thanks no.absolutes, glad you had a laugh as I sure laughed a lot when I saw him. No I did not get permission, but I think he was a flasher and would enjoy the exposure, we watched him for twenty minutes or so and when we left he was still in the same position.

Thanks gottasnap, it was hard to start shooting those shots as we were laughing so hard, but he didn't seem to mind.

Thanks ricklumpas, it is weird but he was probably just drying or cooling off.

Thanks leona, we were lucky to catch this pose as we were walking away when one of my sons looked backed and spotted this position. Took a few minutes to control the laughter so I could shoot.
