Default dragonfly

I've been obsessed with getting pictures of dragonflys recently so went out hunting this afternoon.
This little fella was obliging enough to pose for me but viewing the shot full size I can see his head is a touch out of focus. Can anyone tell me if there's a way to correct that in PS at all?

This one came out a little better but a bit more hunting and a bit more practice needed I think.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice photos!

I tried photographing some of those too a while ago but the photos where too distant (I'm stuck with the 18-55mm kit lens). What lens did you use to take these pics?
As for the focus point in the first pic, I don't know if there's any PP you can do to correct it. I love the second one though!

hi, and thanks for the comment. the first was using my own 18-55mm kit lens, but with a macro filter screwed on the end and the second with a 70-200mm zoom.

The ones you posted are damsel flies (little cousins of the dragon flies).

There is a thread with some tips on getting DRAGONFLY pictures over here:

Hi Arlon, it was actually your thread that inspired me to go out hunting for them (and damselflys as it turns out) in the first place. Luckily there's lots of places near here where I can set up and hunt them down (so to speak) to practice.
