Really cool photos. Makes me wonder what material the chess pieces are made from that give such interesting reflections.

A question - already asked above - what backdrop did you use?

Thank you all for the replies! I really appreciate it.

The set is a cheap plastic one but the flash takes the best out of it
The reflections are something that susrprised me too!

Also, the background is the back of my desk, the only black place I could find in the house (it's quite hard to squeeze under the desk and take pics, my neck was in pain afterwards!).
I had to make sure though the flash didn't reflect on the wood because then the photos were ruined.
So after a lot of trial and error I got some good ones, picked the best of 'em and posted them here

By the way, I use a Nikon D60 which I got a month ago.
