Default Beach Sunset Portrait and Stray Kitten

On Saturday, we were fortunate enough to be invited to a friend's surprise 50th birthday party. We took a party bus down (with some adult beverages ) to a restaraunt on the beach. On the way, we stopped to watch the sunset and I was able to get a few photos. (Flash was on the hot shoe for this quick snap.)

This cat (kitten?) was on the other side of a fence at an abandonded construction site. I couldn't get to it, and couldn't get it to come to me. Sad.

Chip, that's a nicely done impromptu portrait shot. What a great background. A nice looking cat....maybe it just strayed into the site area and has a home

Wonderful job Chip....came out beautiful. Too bad for the kitten, but he looks healthy enough.

two very nice shots - no disrespect to the couple in the 1st but I'd liked to have seen the sunset without them too!

Mike - Thanks, and thanks also for the positive angle on the cat.

Thank you, leona. You're right - the kitten does look healthy. Maybe Mike is right?

No disrespect taken. But, we were in a rush (late for our reservation at the restaurant) and I didn't have time for a sunset photo.

It is a lovely portrait with an great backgrround, Chip. That is a Florida sunset, right? We also have a beautiful sunset in Manila but I haven't had a chance to take shots. Maybe next time.

Thanks for sharing.

Vin - Thanks! I definitely could not have pulled off this portrait photo without all that I've learned from the nice folks here at DPS.

ricklumpas - Yep, that's a Florida sunset. It's one of the good reason to live on the West side of the peninsula: you don't have to get up before dawn to see this type of sky. I'm sure you'll be capturing some fine Manila sunsets soon.
