Nice photos.

Sadly I can't share your level of enthusiasm when it comes to the destruction of the reef by tourists. I don't think it is a lughing matter It bothers me that in 10 years time there possibly wont be anything left given the levels of pollution, illegal harvesting and traffic.

Such a beautiful part of the world that like so many other wonders will cease to exist.

I'm hardly enthusastic about it but they are doing a lot to ensure its preservation. The GBRMPA has started a process that will increase the area and number of no-take zones (or marine sanctuaries) to ensure that the ecological processes and systems of the Great Barrier Reef are maintained and tourism is very strict.

I know. Hopefully it's not a case of too little too late.

One of the things high on my bucket list is learning to dive. Beautiful shots you have there. Maybe someday, I will get some!

Its the same story here at the Bucco Reef, in our sister island Tobago. Over tourism and a lack of the proper regulations during the 70's and 80's have left a once beautiful reef now struggling to survive. Even now with more protection experts it will take many years to recover to its pristine beauty. Sadly knowing humans it will probably not survive at all. So lets treasure that wonderful Great Barrier Reef.

Those are very good photos. Unfortunately, we humans leave a devastating trail.

Good photos and I'm sure the experience is a great one, but I guess we have to decide what is more important.
