Just a few backyard shots,, my back has been bothering me, and not up to travelling today,, so I was just playing around the house takign it easy.
this rose was shot at 800m and about 12 feet away .. I just wanted to see what that set-up would yeild .. I messed around with the settings.. this one was pretty small apertaure and slow ( something I normally couldn't do with moving wildlife ) .. there was still a little movement but it came out pretty decent. ![]() Aperture: f/18.0 Focal Length: 800 mm ISO Speed: 800 Exposure Bias: 0 EV Flash: Off, Did not fire I don't have a macro lense( but now I want one ! ) .. watching the bees flying around was fun.. they are hard to capture flying and I wanna work on that.. for now I'll settle for them on the flowers. I processed this one a little soft with a glow ... I like the back and yellow colors of the bee with the bright pink.. it's interesting, they never went near my roses. ![]() here's another shot of one visiting ![]() a little sharper for this one thanks for taking a look, hope everyone had a great weekend ! ( I've been busy ) Vin

Nice shots Vin - looking at the 3rd shot you don't need a macro lense.
Keep them coming. Cheers, Bernz

Vin, hope your back gets better. I like all your black backgrounds, they really make the colors stand out. I like the softness of the first one and the incredible sharpness of the third.

I don't have a macro lense( but now I want one !
Your talent knows no boundaries. These are stunning pictures, especially the rose taken at distance and the first bee shot. You've captured the colours beautifully, with perfect DoF and then softened some of the detail. The portfolio bulges ever fuller Vin. Look after yourself, Steve |
