Default Mogan David or Purple Dragon

This little guy was kind enough to pose for me today. Isn't he handsome ;-) We have some red ones around as well, hope I'm lucky enough to snag one them one day too. I thought they came out pretty good, considering I don't have a macro lens...guess I need to get one though...

Sure are some ugly buggers close up, eh? I love the angle on the first!

Great shots. I love dragon flies. The color on these are beautiful. Good sharp shots, right down to little hairs on his back!

Thanks all ;-) I just think they are so cool looking. Really fun shooting him, and he posed for me for quite some time!

Starvue, I took the shots with my old Olympus E-10. It has a macro setting, and for the most part I think it does a pretty good job. I'm not sure if there is a macro lens for it or not...I do enjoy taking macro shots though, kind of fun to see how close you can get ;-)

I love the the first photo as it details the wings perfectly. I love that the focus is so good that you can even see the "hair" on his or her thorax. I am also amazed that it sat there for the photo shoot. Neat pics.
