Default Crazy Annie

I took these photos when I went to visit my dear mother, who had recently turned 90 years old. She is having a hard time accepting the negative stuff associated with old age, and was somewhat reluctant about having her photo taken...That was until i talked her into going for a long walk in the woods! She may be old, but she has the heart of a young woman. She managed the 1 1/2 hour walk with no problems, although she slowed a bit on a hill (not bad for someone who has smoked like a chimney all her life and had 8 kids to boot!). My mom is an amazing person, and I don't know if the photos do her justice, but I liked them because I was able to catch her in different moods along the walk, which changed depending on the subject that was being discussed. I used fairly slow shutter speeds as the woods are thick, and the light areas are from the sunlit beach areas casting that horrible glow between the trees. Enjoy, and feel free to comment about technical issues.

What a beautiful and amazing lady she is, and you have captured her so wonderfully in each one. How lucky you are to have her, and to have these photos to cherish for many years to come. These are beautiful shots. Thank you for sharing them with us.

Wow! Good on her for getting out and doing the walk with you. That is amazing! I hope I can do that when I'm 90! No caption needed for the 3rd one...it says it all. I hope my son thinks as much of me when I'm 90 as you think of your mom

Amazing!! I can't believe she gets around so well. An hour and a half walk - She does better than me. You are so lucky to have her to walk and share time with. Great capture on these photos. Thank you for sharing.

I really want to thank all of you for visiting a little of my life. I have been very lucky to have the mother I do (and the father I had before he passed a few years back)! I was always really close to my mom, and we became very incredible friends along the way. We always have a great time, and laugh a lot about some of the goofy, and stupid things we have done in our lives. I am sure you all must realize that I cherish every moment I get to spend with her, even though her memory is going, and she can be cranky at times. I would be the same way at that age! : ) Cheers!
