Default Norfolk Poppies

I took these in June and then forgot them - oops! We get a lot growing in the fields and hedgerows and I love their vibrancy. There is ONE shot I want to achieve but haven't got there yet - ah well, maybe next year!

Poppy 1

Poppy 2

In both cases data is the same:
Nikon D40
f/5.6
1/640
ISO-200
55mm
No flash

Jill, those are very nice. The poppy blooms look like folded crepe paper.

Those are lovely. I was fascinated by a picture a friend of mine had taken last year of poppies that I had to get out myself this year and take my own. One of those photos is now my screen saver.

(I'll take this off if you want, just let me know)

No need - leave it by all means - they're very pretty - look like a different type/strain to ours!

Makes me think back to the Wizard of Oz, when Dorothy was running thru the poppy fields and fell asleep

Windrider ... That would be the opium effect .. lol

Kym .... yes, there's that impression of texture isn't there?

Isn't it amazing what a different pair of eyes can see in the same shot ... I love photography
