Default Early bird catches the worm....

....or much more on our 1st full day on safari

It was 5:30 wake up call & in the jeep not much after 6 - even if you are only half awake you soon wake up when you see the stunning wildlife in it's natural habitat

i have many better than this but for some reason I like it

DSC_0131_2

no idea what this bird is

DSC_0142_2

but I know a hippo when I see one

DSC_0178_2

don't know what this is either but it's 1 of my favourite images of my trip

DSC_0181_2

I hope you like them - more to follow in due course unless you all get bored with them

Wow Sheldon. You said your wish didn't come true. Now I know that it did. These are stuning images and I agree with the first one, it is a very natural shot. It's is so nice to see the animals in the wild and you did a great job with all of them. Thanks for sharing them with us buddy.

Dave.

More outstanding pictures Sheldon, although I'm drawn to the first one and the alertness of the monkeys. You've captured great colour an tone, pin sharp focus and perfect DoF, well done mate

funny how after the event it's the images which aren't just of the subject but of it in it's surroundings that seem the most appealing - a lesson learned - you need the environment too

Thanks Dave - it certainly beats seeing them in the zoo - we were amazed how we could watch an elephant for hours (pics to follow) and then be equally hooked by the same thing the next day

Thanks to everyone for looking
