"Himbing" means sound asleep, as what this child is even on a wet floor. I chanced upon this as I disembarked from a passenger ship in one of our ports. This child goes with his father, a coin diver, waiting for the passenger ships to arrive and for the coins that passengers drop on the water for them to dive and retrieve. This scene welcomes you as you arrive in most of the ports in the Philippines. . . I wonder what are the hopes and dreams of this child exposed to the harsh realities of life early on.

this is a superb image and a rare sight on DPS (or anywhere else) it's real life and what we all need to see more of - at the end of the day we all shoot images on equipment that is worth far more than these people ever get to live on
