Remembering Franklin

Franklin

We were homeward bound one night on the deep, swinging in my hammock I fell asleep
I dreamed a dream and I thought it true, concerning Franklin and his gallant crew

I love the light reflections in this photo, and the lone boat is a great finishing touch

The lighting is just stunning on this one. Perfect for black and white. Love where you've placed the boat. Super composition. You could sell this one over and over and over...it's that good.

H Beach! This is just Stunning! I'd love to have it hanging on my Wall! Composition, lighting, everything comes together on this. I'm learning from the Master here!

Beach, another beauty - the scene you present and the words you pair .. I found the link to the words, it helps me articulate my appreciation of this photograph .. Ian

And now my burden it gives me pain
For my Lord Franklin I'd sail the main
Ten thousand pounds I would freely give
To know Lord Franklin, and where he lives.

This verse refers to his wife who offered ten thousand pounds for any information on the whereabouts of Lord Franklin when he disappeared near the Pole, a LOT of money in those days. I heard this explanation from an Irish pub singer who sang from under a table, so it must be true.
