Default My four favorite portraits to date.

I've been shooting portraits for the past 3 or 4 months and its been an incredible learning experience for me. I've learned so much within a short amount of time that I owe to most everyone here. Inspiration, tips, tutorials. What more could a budding mind need?

Anyway, to say thank you, I thought I would show you what you guys created. Some of these may be repeats but I thought it might be ok since its a best of kind of thing. And I'll tell you the truth I had a hard time picking out my favorite four. I desperately wanted to make it a fav six. : (

Thank you all.

One of the first portraits I was trying to take seriously. Full Manual (my first time) and first time post processing for portraits. Its still one of my favorites. I recommend viewing it large as its the eyes that are my favorite part.

Dy Portrait Black and White

I had carried around this idea in my head while I was desperately trying to gather up the courage to ask this girl if I could take pictures of her. It was like asking a girl on a date for the first time, I was terrified. This was my favorite shot from that shoot with her! If you wish to view large click here.

Sam was a natural at pictures, (once I had seen the 2 photo albums she kept of herself, I had a feeling she wouldn't mind taking pictures with me at all lol) This shot stood out as my favorite mostly due to her hair I think. I dunno, I guess I can't really explain it. Large

This last shot is from the most recent shoot I did with my sister and a friend of hers. I also think this is the closest I've gotten to capturing my sister's personality in a picture. It came out ever so slightly blurry but I was just holding it over my head so I really should have tried it on manual focus. (ah hindsight, where were you before I made all of my decisions???) Large

I hope you guys have enjoyed viewing what you have helped create. Again, let me express my gratitude for each and every one of you.

THANK YOU.

I love the second great angle, however did you catch that. The fourth shot is great, I love the emotion. I looked at your flickr, and the shot of her with the golden glow is my fav though!

Some really nice shots in there - how did you manage to hover over the girl in your second picture?

Thanks for takin a look, IglooFu. Yeah that was one of the ones I would have wanted to add as well, keeping it down to four was tough. As far as the angle on the second pic, keep reading it will be shown at the bottom : )

Thank you both for the kind comments. no.absolutes, the pic was taken at our local park. Just looked for a reasonably level mostly covered in grass area.

As for how I hovered, it was just a ladder. Made sure I hauled it from home and brought it with me to the park. (I did wrangle up a couple weird looks from passerby's) Here is the unedited shot, you can easily see what I did. Glad you guys liked the shot!
