Default Urban decay - abandoned tram/bus depot

Hi everyone,

Thought I'd share a few shots from my visit to an abandoned tram & bus depot in Sydney, Australia on the weekend.

The place was amazing - we spent 3 1/2 hours in there & only scratched the surface. Planning on going back some time soon to do some more shooting.

Please let me know what you think of the shots - still a bit of a beginner & would love some feedback (especially on the two portraits, as this was my first time playing with off camera flash and involved a lot of guesswork as to settings/placement etc)

Thanks,
Karl

Great shots! I love urban decay shots. The lighting in the portraits was spot on.

Welcome to DPS
Wow there is some talent on those walls and you have captured it well in these shots. I like the portraits, the expression and pose in both shots show the mood of the surrounds. Well done, I look forward to seeing more from you.

hi mate
i am totally envious what a cool place to find as its right up my street excuse the pun.Loads of textures persectives and scenarios to make up.One thing i will say is think greyscale b/w too!! Although there are great colours there with the graffeti and all b/w will give a sense of time moodyness and pick out those amazing textures, look at the amazing lines in the metal ceiling joists
thanks for sharing these and the great place you have found
hope ive been a little helpful.
cheers
mike

Very cool! I love the graffiti in all the shots - its like a litte life in something very dead. How about that rabbit, was it left there?

Thanks everyone for your comments!

Dizwold, good call - I might go back and revisit some of the shots I didn't process to see if there's anything in there which would work well in B&W.

Yeah, it was a bit creepy actually - we found that rabbit on the bus exactly where it is in that photo... Made for a fun prop for a shot though!

Here's another one from the day:

Loved the textures on the wall in the bathroom - check out the large version on my Flickr to see them in more detail!

Being a New Yorker, I love the graf shots. All these shots are great tho; i think the lighting effects work.
