Default The Writers Walk ............................

The Wellington Writers Walk was opened during the NZ International Festival of the Arts in March 2002; and is a project of the New Zealand Society of Authors’ of Wellington Branch. It consists of a series of 15 text sculptures located along Wellington’s beautiful harbour. Each one contains a quotation about the city from a poem or piece of prose by one of the many talented writers who have made Wellington their home at some point in their lives.

Here is an example of four of them.

1. Note the bird, a sparrow, reading to words !!!

2. On the water edge

3. Overlooking the entrance to a marina

4. On the water edge near restaurants

I love those sculptures. They're a great way to mix in words / art with other things. That is one of the wonderful things about Wellington is all the art everywhere
