Default Ducklings Revisted

The Swan's get alot of the press, while the ducklings just go about thier business, here's a Family of Green Tipped Teals, taken on May 30th ..of all the baby waterfowl .. these little ones were the most industrious and never were more then 4 feet from mom and dad

IMG_3818
I'm really not very pleased with the this photo, but it does show the whole family a few weeks after hatching..

and taken aug 11th
here are a few of the same family, they are now much more independent now, but Mom was still around, they are almost full size now ...
IMG_6095

and no People shots ( rude or nice ) this time ... but I leave with a Sunset with no Sun, the Robert Moses bridge in the background, this is the Great South Bay from the Long Island Side

IMG_6283
I was there for the Sunset, but mother nature had other planes to show off her beauty that evening.

thanks for taking a look

Vin

Hey Vin, just like a reporter, you always get the follow up story. It's nice to see the family all grown up. If your not please with the photo, you should be delighted with the story. You have a lot of dedecation in finding these things.
The last photo is a beautiful sunset and great perspecive. No sun, but still a wonderful sunset. The sky is amazing and Iove the sillhouetted bridge and it just wouldn't be the same without the bird.. This is all excellent work buddy.

Dave.

The babies have really grown Vin, It doesn't take long does it. I really like the composition on your last shot, the bridge in the background the bird flying and even if the brilliant colors didn't materialize, It's a beautiful capture!
Thanks for sharing these

I'm really not very pleased with the this photo, but it does show the whole family a few weeks after hatching..

There are many members who don't even have access to shots like this one, let alone the talent to present them at a consistently high standard.

Good pictures Vin, and I glad the families are growing and developing.

I also like the Great South Bay from the Long Island Side. It's not always the pictures we take on the day, it's the pictures yet to take.

Until next time, mate

Steve

Great shots (as usual). The last one is just such a wonderful catch. Your capture of the bird really is very well done, it adds such a lot of feeling to an already lovely shot

Thank you dave .. I must be a mix of photo journalist/creative photographer cause I like both forms of camera work and I've been in a sort of training mode since I started really delving into it .. Glad you enjoy following the waterfowl families.. I have alot of fun putting them together and all this practice is helping me get better ( I hope ) !!

ahh, the last shot... I am trying to " see " better .. I really think I miss alot of good images because I'm not looking for them.. see that bridge everytime I got to one particular park,, that evening I actually saw and formed a pretty decent wide angle ... had almost a constast seagull in frame as they were all over the place ...

thanks very much and I'm glad you like them !

thanks much Micheal, yeah, ducks grow really fast ..I liked the last shot mostly because I was able to se it .. it might sound strange, but some of us see landscapes more clearly, I am still training my eyes and brain .. so I'm a little proud of this bridge shot ,,, glad you liked them !

Thanks Steve, it's easy to get caught up with only wanting to share " best quaility " photos, but some of the things I put together are better " combined " then as indivdual photos...that was the case with the these Teals.. I think it takes a bit of confidence to show photos that aren't high standard if they have value in other ways .. thank you taking notice of that !

and your spot on with the bridge landscape .. that's a view that is due to get nailed to the wall eventually.. it has such potential .. I'm glad you liked the set and as always thank you for taking the time to give a good look and let me know your thoughts!

Nice pic of the growing babies and I alos like the sky of your bridge shot.....all sorts of gradations in it......very dark at the top and then alternating shades of color all throughout with a slight breakout of sun too
