Default The Friday Funny...Rescue Race Gone Bad

In case you don't know, the rescue race is an event done at some gymkhana's. Horse and rider gallop to one end of arena, pick up person needing to be rescued and run back across the finish line. It is always a hoot. Horses buck, riders fall and it is all in good fun. No horses or riders were hurt to obtain these shots.

Can they pull it off?

Oopps, not looking good

Let go....Let go!!

Ouch!!!

I don't know about Friday Funny Deb. These shots are Friday Fantastic. Great action shots and you sure caught all the action. I'm glad no one was hurt. I love the pink socks on the horse, or are they called something else. lol Excellent work.

Dave.

Fantastic series of photos! I will have to go to our local rodeo sometime to see if they do anything like this. Thanks for sharing these wonderful shots.

At the local gymkhana, the person being rescued regrets having two extra doughnuts prior to the event.

"I can't believe how quickly they went to my hips" she later commented,
"does my bum look big in this"

Great post Deb, have a good weekend

Right place at the right time. If I had been on the other side of the arena, I would have missed it all. PS.....the pink socks are called leg wraps or polo wraps. They are for protection of the horses leg.

Fantastic sequence shots, from start to finish you can feel the adrenalin rushing through their bodies and the effort of holding on tight.
