Default Jet T38 and a T43

So I had to go to town today, and decided to try my hand at shooting aircraft. Randolph AFB is right up the road, and it is a training base for pilots and Navs. These shots came out ok, but I want to go back, when they're taking off on a diff, runway, and closer to dusk, I'd love to get a shot of one in burner ;-)

This is a C model T-38 Talon, 50's vintage aircraft. The Air Force has used this as a jet trainer forever...they got their money's worth out this plane, that's for sure. My husband was an instructor pilot in the AF, and has quite a few hours in this jet,

This was an easier target to shoot LOL much bigger. This is a T-43, soon to be retired. They use it to train navigators.

Thanks! ;-) I've lived around jets all my life, just never really thought about taking pics of them ;-) Guess I better get after it ;-)

Getting after it sounds like a plan to me, especially after how well you did with these.

Four great shots. Great clear detail especially in the last one. Thanks for sharing.

I also like the last photo as it is the clearest of them. Great captures.

They're all great (the second one is more moody with the blue tint which is interesting), my favorite ones are the first and the last for the clarity and lighting.

Great Captures

If you get into contact with the local public affairs office, you could probably get them to help you out in finding out when the best time and place to take a photo would be. Many times they can get access to schedules and such that wouldn't normally be published to civilians.
