Default Hoover Dam (another perspective)

A while ago another DPS member posted an image of the arch at Hoover Dam that will support the bypass bridge. I've had the opportunity to work on that project and wanted to share some images SOOC that show the arch under construction.

This is from the Arizona side support Piers looking to the Nevada side.

Thanks, Hayward. I am glad that heights don't bother me.

I don't know if I can get clearance to go up on the highline at night, but it would be cool.

Great shot of the dam. Why are they building the bridge?

The road over the Hoover Dam is the main link between Las Vegas and Phoenix. With all of the tourist traffic and single lane in each direction, it can often take better than an hour to cross over the dam. Also, after 9/11 the dam was closed to tractor trailers and they are presently diverted to the Colorado River crossing at Laughlin which adds to the time to get to Phoenix. The bypass bridge will allow travelers not interested in the dam a smoother route to Arizona and back.
