Default Swan family revisted

thought since It's been a few weeks, I would pay my favorite Swan family a visit and check on the youngsters , but first, let's revisit the cygnets from back on may 20th,when they were a few weeks old

I'll go this way

just little balls of soft downey feathers, little black eyes and a black bill ..

and now we have the whole family, I would have preferred to pick my spot for shooting, as the sun was not with me.. but it is kinda cool that an Egret is in the background ,, notice the " wake " of all of them swimming together ! .. they are extremly strong swimmers now and ripple the water as they surge forward... in fact the Male fell behind and had to resort to skipping along the top of the water with his wings to catch up !

I tried to get a better position, but they just kept going, I wonder if the Osprey have spoken to the Swans and told them about keeping away from me !!

and now ... I would like to put a twist on a current theme, this very nice old guy was fly fishing, I stopped and said hello, he responded with a friendly hello !! .. I asked how the fishing was ? and he said the fish are winning .. I asked if he'd mind me taking his picture since it was such a beautiful spot he was in ... and he said sure, it's ok ,,, so here's someone who said hello , I took this a few days ago and was debating to add it to the " rude people I meet out shooting " just to keep it real and show I don't think everyone's messed up , just some {evilgrin}

he was tying on a fly and standing in the flippin sun , but I couldn't very well ask him to move. So chaulk up one for the nice people !!

thanks for taking a look,

Vin

I really like your swan series Vin. My how they've grown! And to add some fly fishing in.... I may faint, LOL... It's a heavenly post, at least from my point of view. Great work as usual buddy.

Great shots Vin, they look so cute and fluffy when they are young. They have grown into a group of good looking teenages. Nice fly fishing shot.

I love that you never just take a picture. I love that you have a plan, a short/ medium/ long term plan, although its not always clear to the viewer at the time.
Here in the first two pictures we revisit your excellent work with the cygnets some weeks ago. We then compare it to the magnificence of the second picture. This is a technique you have have used several times to chart the progress of your beautiful birds.

Wasn't it only weeks ago you uncertainly made first contact with the gentlemen and their impressive aircraft hobby, forgive me for not recalling more, other than your pictures of the planes were also impressive.
You are now taking people pictures all over the place and enjoying the process as well.
You even have time to critique the postioning of the sun, and the failure of your fellow ramblers to return your 'hello how are yous'

Love set Vin, Steve

Yay! Glad to see nice people on the scoreboard!

The sun might not have been with you, but I really like the picture of your swan family and I love the fact that you have an interested egret as an onlooker. Great timing in catching the male playing catch up!

thanks Steve ... I think one of the coolest things about our friendship is our different approaches to photography .. You are clearly a minstrel and an artist , a poet with a camera .. most ( but not all ) of your work is a blend of creative images and song to create feelings, who's often copied ( with your encouragement ) but seldom matched , and you only seem to get better at it..

whereas I want to tell a " set-up " narrative and then a punchline image for laughs or put together an imformative set of connected photos, or sometimes I like to share a photography challange ( like barnswallows in flight ) and share the progress, and you are correct, I don't always reveal the project at first since I don't always pursue it or can't cause I lack the ability ( shooting fireflies at night - which is just freakin crazy ! )

two different styles , but you've motivated me to try and see what you see( my darkside of the moon ) and I know I've gotten you to try a few things new ( Steve shoots a Swan ! ) .. how enjoyable to have you as such a good friend to give and take with.

It was model airplanes a few months ago .. I should go back, they were nice folks and great subject to shoot .. plus I'm better at pannin now !! . and since you have noticed
I have been trying to widen my photography path a little , shooting people is no longer out of the question !! ... thanks for your thoughtful response !
