Default I won a contest!

I am so thrilled to be able to brag to that I just found out I won a contest.

I participated in the Worldwide Photo Walk in July held at the Sacramento Railroad Museum here in California. I didn't win the prize from the Worldwide Photo Walk folks (one picture from each walk was submitted into the international competition), but I did win the contest where a number of people from the museum itself judged the winner. Here is my winning entry out of 105 entrants and 50 photogs:

Locomotive History

So, you want to know what I won? (I am not rich, unfortunately).

My photo will be framed with the five runners ups and put up in the museum's gallery.

It isn't a photo that I would have printed out for myself or even put in my blog, but for the museum's purposes, I guess it works.

Congratulations on winning. I loved this shot the first time I saw it here and I still do. The judges definitely picked the right winner. Well done.

Hi Eric, you must be so proud! I would be! That is so wonderful and couldn't happen to a nicer guy! Really cool! Toyvlle is my Mom and we both signed up for the MoPhoto Walk. Just hoping my hubby gets home from work in time to leave my girls. At least it is close. Looking forward to meeting you in person. Way to go.

I'm very happy for you. Isn't it wonderful to have your work affirmed in that way! Certainly, for folks who love trains--like me--it is a terrific photo. Well done.
