Default Pics of a lily

This is my first picture I've posted. Here are some pictures of a lily I took today. My mom wanted to print one of the other ones I took so I wanted to reshoot some to get them sharper. This time I used a tripod, set my camera to Mirror Lock and then used a remote set to a 2 second timer to take the pictures. I also bought some fake velvet fabric from Hancock Fabrics ($8 for 2 yards) to use as a background which I just taped to the wall. No flash used, just played around with aperture settings and then a little post in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. I forgot to set my white balance but was able to fix that in Lightroom after since I shot them in RAW format.

Here's a quick pic of my first little "studio" I've made.

This is my favorite from the set. Click the image to see the others.

Exposure: 18.0 sec & f/36
Focal Length: 55mm
ISO Speed Rating: ISO 100
Flash: Did Not Fire
Model: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi
Lens: Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS

I like it! Might look pretty cool black and white too!

Here's a pic of it in B&W. I'm going to print both today and see which one I like best.

Thanks. I just hope they both come out good when I print them. Sending it framed to my mom for her birthday this week.

Prints came out great. I got them done at Walgreens and they made me sign a waiver that I had the rights to print the image. I asked if that was something new and they said no, its just for professional pictures. Hey, it made me feel good!

The first time that happened to me at Walmart, I was so excited! lol. It does make you feel good though, doesn't it?! I like the b&w version. I think it would look cool on a canvas, like maybe 12x12. I bet your mom will love it!

My girlfriend already stole the b&w print and extra frame I had to stick in her office.
