Default Using a flash in daylight ........

Well yesterday I went searching for the NZ Tui bird again but this time I took my SB600 flash with me. As it is difficult to see the birds, sometimes, and they are black I thought throwing a little light towards them may highlight their features a little more.

Well you be the judges - what do you think?

Taken with my VR 70-200mm lense.

Wonderful. Great captures. And it looks like the light did just the trick.

These are absolutely beautiful captures Bernz, I love the first two and the last two make me wish I could hear their beautiful song. #2 is my fave.

Grads on 500 Bernz !!! always enjoyable to see what you've contributed to share your shot next.. I admire how you try new things ( just like this post ) and stir creative thought in some of us.. and of course I appreciate the time you take to view and comment my posts, so grads and thanks !

As far as these photos.. I completely understand the black bird in sunlight paradox, it's such a fine line between dark shadows and blowouts, using fill flash was an excellent idea ! it pulled out the green iridescence , really cool looking bird by the way, certainly worth the time and effort.

here's to thousands and thousands more !

/cheers

Vin

Very nice set Bernz. They are unusual birds with the white clump of feathers on the breast. You captured them really well my friend. Cheers!
