Default Manhattan skyline and a sunset (attempt :P)

I wanted to try capturing the sunset and the post sunset mood and thought, what better place than to try capturing the Manhattan Skyline. Well, as they say it is easier said than done. It was windy and I couldnt figure out how to avoid the camera shake (even though I had it on the tripod). Out of the 100 something pictures only about 5 was usable (pretty aweful success ratio.. ).
Anyway, I wanted to share two pics from that evening. Any comments greatly appreciated.

Manhattan Skyline

Sunset at Liberty State Park

Thanks for looking.

I like the first one - the panoramic format works well. I'm not too sure on the railings in the foreground though - maybe try for some reflections on the water instead?

As for the wind, you could try weighting down the tripod by hanging your bag on it (some tripods have hooks on the middle column). You could also try shielding the camera from the wind using your body. I also tend to find the lower the tripod the more stable it is, if the composition allows for it.

I too like the first one but also think the railings take something away from the image.
