Default HummingBird closeup

Here's another shot from my trip to the hills... someone set up about a dozen feeders in a couple of trees, and they apparently come back every year during migration.. Here's a cute little fella...

Nice capture! I'd love to be able to snap a good photo of a hummingbird, but we don't get too many of them around here...

Wow.

I love how you were able to stop the wings. What was your aperture at? It looks like you were in a dark area.

f/5.6 @ 1/200 - 300mm - The feeders are all placed in the middle of a large Pinion Pine tree.. sheltered from the Sun and wind.. Pretty shady also! - He set up folding chairs that sit about 6' away from the feeders, and they really don't mind us sitting there watching.. It's quite the sight to see them fighting - they're really "Mean" little things!!! They'll fight over a space and run right back to feed some more...

Superb Picture. I would have liked a little less Shutter speed to get more of their wings effect, since wings are the marvels of Humming Birds. If the wings are stopped suddenly by some predators the bird dies instantly due to shock.
